You must study. In order to build a knife survival, defense/disarms protocol you need to know what you could expect. You need to know what you could be facing. You can’t rely on any one source of information either. You have to look at CCTV, study anecdotes, study forensics, legal documents, personal accounts and lastly study martial arts that acknowledge weapons. You need to know how the knife works and how people fight or more accurately attack with them. You also need to understand your own cultural endemically as well.
